For your guides €5 per day per person is suggested at the end of their service. 10% for good service is suggested at restaurants. €1 - €2 per day on your pillow is suggested for housekeeping. €30 per person for your coach driver at the end of the airport is also appreciated.

  • Prague weather in October is fairly consistent. Average highs are in the 60’s to 70’s and lows are in the mid to low 40's ( 7 C / 17 C). A typical day has very cool mornings and evenings, so you'll definitely need some warmer clothing. May is also known to start mildly and end rather cold. Bring a rain jacket just in case!

  • Daypack, comfortable walking shoes, raingear, cap or wide brimmed hat. You’ll be walking quite a bit, and on cobblestones, so bring appropriate footwear.

  • Please use the pink  Happy Sherpa Travel luggage tags!

  • Please double check your passport is valid for six months beyond the date of return from your trip. If you change your passport after booking the trip with us, please tell us, and then bring the old one (or a good color copy) with you. Also take a picture of your passport and leave it on your phone.

  • In Germany and Austria, type C, E and F power sockets are used, with a standard voltage of 230 V and a frequency 50 Hz. In other words, you’ll need an adapter. You can get one here:

  • Germany and Austria is GMT plus 1 hours – so six hours ahead of us on the east coast.

  • German and Austrian currency is the Euro (EUR), it is currently trading at around $1.24 to the US Dollar. Euros are also  widely accepted in restaurants and shops throughout the country. ATM´s are available in almost every major city or town, and are the easiest way to get Euros. Visa and Master Card are widely accepted. Amex is hit or miss. Let your bank know you will be out of the country so they don’t freeze your card.

  • Both Germans and Austrians speak German (!) but you will find most that work in the service industry have more than passable English.
